Week 1-2: Sea Turtles At The MTC

HOLA HOLA

Update: I have been a missionary for two weeks now! I just finished online/at-home MTC (Missionary Training Center) via zoom. I met with 11 other missionaries (my district), plus two different teachers based out of the Mexico Missionary Training Center, for 8-10 hours a day. Throughout the meetings, we learned how to become a successful missionary by studying Preach my Gospel (a missionary training and teaching book), the scriptures, General Conference talks, watching inspirational videos, and sharing the experiences that led each of us to serve a mission. I LOVE IT!! However, there is a catch... It is all in Spanish. I was quickly humbled when I realized that I not only had to try and UNDERSTAND Spanish, but all my responses had to BE IN Spanish as well. How I got the Nevada State Seal of Biliteracy, I do not know. However, ESTA BIEN!! I have already seen such an improvement the more I open my mouth and try my best! I'm excited to continue to put in the work :)

Scripture: 1 Nephi 3:7

I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandment unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.

Though my mission will be filled with an abundance of love and happiness, there will also be a lot of growth. Oftentimes, testimony stretching and major growth experiences can be uncomfortable and painful. "There is no growth in the comfort zone and no comfort in the growth zone." However, as the Book of Mormon prophet Nephi testified, the Lord will always provide a way to accomplish His commandments. Since I can first remember, I have felt strongly that I needed to serve a mission, and HERE I AM, willing and ready to do the things which the Lord hath commanded of me. Regardless of the rough road ahead, I am ready to give my will to God completely.

Highs:
