Go On A Mission Everyone

Image
Update : WHAT A WEEK!!! The work of the Lord has brought out a side of me that I didn't even know existed haha. Honestly, the first 3 months of my mission, I felt like I was only seeing all the many things I needed to work on, but this week I have been so blessed to see my strengths in action.      Our friend Julio got baptized woohoooo. What a guy. The day leading up to his baptism was FILLED with stress, but the opportunity to IMMEDIATELY witness the change in this man, who other missionaries found 6 months ago drunk and addicted to drugs in a random park at night, was once again a life changing experience. THE GOSPEL CHANGES LIVES.      Spiritual : The Psalm of Nefi (2 Nephi 4)  In this chapter, Nephi both rejoices in the Lord, while expressing concern for his shortcomings.      17 O wretched man that I am! Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh (mortal weakness); my soul grieveth because of my iniquities (sins/shortcomings)...

I Will Be Full For The Rest Of My Life

UPDATE: This week was the Chilean 4th of July and oh my, I have never eaten so much in my life. It was SO FUN though. We learned Cueca (traditional chilean dance), ate over 10 huge empanadas this week, learned some Chilean games, sang, and then had a zone asado (bbq but 10 x better) with other missionaries in my area.  This week the General Primary and Relief Society president for the whole world wide church held a conference for all of the South America South missions and the Hermanas in my mission got to watch live! These two women are BOSSES and I learned so much about the love of God and how each one of us is so needed.      SPIRITUAL: A cute little Hermana in our ward has us over every week for lunch. She lives alone with two dogs and LOVES to talk about miracles. Though most people would call these miracles coincidences, instead, she sees them as evidence she is loved by her Heavenly Father. She has taught me that even the smallest of experiences can always lea...

BUZZER BEATER MIRACLES

Hola familia y amigosssss     Another week FILLED with miracles!! Last week I fasted so that we could find people who would be truly interested in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Like always, God provided!!  He has helped us find so many people and families, we have had to cancel appointments because we don't have enough time in the day (starting to work at 9am, 3 hours of studying, 45 minute lunch with a member, and ending the day at 9:30pm)!! I have literally been on the verge of tears as our new friends have shown such strong desires to learn more. Their faith and yearning for the spirit is so incredible and we are so excited to keep teaching them!  This week however was also FILLED with Spanish fails. Too many to share all of them in one email and tristemente. Many of them included me being hazed and the use of bad words (hazing is not funny) (who new exact pronunciation is so important). THE WORST FEELING is when you say something and immediately everyone, ...

Last week was a tiny bit of a doozy, but this week has been AMAZING!!  In the Book of Mormon, I have studied a lot about missionary work, specifically in Alma. I love reading the accounts of these missionaries and "their sufferings in the land, their sorrows, and their afflictions, and their  INCOMPRENSIBLE JOY  (Alma 28:8) and "the veil of unbelief being cast away, and the light which  light up [their] minds , which is the  light of the glory of God — yea, this light  infuses such joy  into [their] souls...  overcoming [their] natural frame , and being  carried away in God  (Alma 19:6)".  I have seen a pattern between "overcoming our natural frame" and in return, receiving "incomprehensible joy". I have noticed this pattern in my life as well and am here to say, NOTHING can even come close to the "incomprehensible joy" that God gives His children when we are progressing and "overcoming our natural frame". THIS IS WHAT LIF...
