Our House Flooded
I feel like so much happens in one week that I am so excited to share and then I sit down to write my email and I literally forget everything and then run out of time haha!! Just know I am thriving. I am not just saying that. I honestly love my life so much and feel so blessed to have this opportunity to share the message of God's love with the people of Chile (and a lot of Venezuelans (I like their spanish better tehe)).
Romans 8:35- “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?”
Romans 8:38- "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, … nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God”
God's love is real. There is no greater evidence of this than the infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ. God sent His Son because he wants all of us to use the redeeming power of the Atonement in our lives and return back with Him and live with our earthly families forever. NOTHING can separate us from our Creator and Heavenly Father. QUE BACAN!!
My goal this week was to try and be a conduit of this love. It is crazy how the work I do each day completely changed. Talking to people became more special to me in my heart rather than a dutiful checkbox thing. Others were more interested in our message.
I have felt God's love more in my life because of my desire to spread it to others.
Share this love with others. There are so many simple ways to share God's love. We NEVER know what is happening in the lives of others around us. LOOK OUTSIDE YOURSELF AND SERVE!!!
Highs:
-Our friend Luis got baptized!! (Call or text my mom for the story pleaseee. It is the funniest most awesome thing ever)
-The Andes were so clear this week
-Chileans love my hair and eyes (they know how to HYPE ME UP)
-Most of the dogs here have sweaters and American names (Washtington, Mike, Ben...) (I cant hold in my laughter when they call their dogs) (not even that funny but gets me good every time)
-Zone Conference in the City (a conference for a bunch of different missionaries near my area) (I learned the importance of self mastery through the power of Christ)
-1/3 times I compliment someone, they give me what I compliment (scarves, oranges, rings, etc.)
-5 full on meals in one day (obsession with empanadas)
-People like my jokes (I only have two)
1. "Soy hermana pickett. Como el nombre del esposo de shakira" (How does everyone know Shakira's ex husbands name)
2. "Qué pasa cuando yo pongo un pez en el agua... NADA" (Gets em everytime)
-I spoke spanish only for a whole 24 hours hollaaa (intercambios with spanish speakers)
Lows:
-Ran away from a good amount of dogs this week #rip
-Our house flooded
-I wake up my comp each night (without realizing) and talk to her about a game plan for the next day (she finally realized last night that I am sleep talking hahaha she has been having full on convos with me this whole time and somehow they have been in spanish)
-EARTHQUAKE!! it actually was only a small one so kind of fun
-We live right next to a park and sketchy things happen sometimes woohoo so we slept with pans and forks to keep us safe
