Trainee-> Trainer??

Another week, another dozen empanadas. It just never stops. 

 

 

It was my final week with my trainer, Hermana Eberhard. She is an incredible, dedicated missionary who puts 110% of her heart and mind into the work of God. She taught me everything I know about missionary life. I miss her already. 

 

 

We got transfer news (when missionaries transfer to other areas in our mission and companionships change every six weeks) last night and I was SHOCKED to see "trainer" next to my name and picture on our transfer chart (someone who trains a brand new missionary). I finished training yesterday and am now on my way to attempt to train someone how to be a missionary when I have only lived in Chile being a missionary for only 3 months. WOOHOO! I was stressed last night (especially with the language aspect), but I know God is on my side at all times. I will be the most spiritual needy person ever these next two months haha. I am so ready to continue to learn, grow, and be humbled. VAMOSSS 

 

 

Spiritual Thought:

Why is the Book of Mormon the COOLEST BOOK EVER? Why should we be studying it EVERYDAY? (in the words of our Prophet, Russel M. Nelson mixed with commentary of Taylor Pickett)

1. The Book of Mormon both illuminates the teachings of the Master and exposes the tactics of the adversary. (GAME PLAN OF HOW WE CAN OVERCOME SATAN)

2. The full power of the gospel of Jesus Christ is contained in the Book of Mormon. Period. (WE RECEIVE GODLY POWER WHEN READING THE BOOK OF MORMON) (President Nelson literally said the word period. That's how serious he is)

3. The Book of Mormon gives purpose to life by urging us to ponder the potential of eternal life and “never-ending happiness.” (GUIDANCE OF HOW WE CAN RECEIVE NEVER-ENDING HAPPINESS)

5. It abolishes forever the false concepts that revelation ended with the Bible and that the heavens are sealed today. (WE CAN RECEIVE PERSONAL ADVICE FROM OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN THROUGH PRAYER) 

 

 

The Book of Mormon is absolutely incredible. If you are sad, lack purpose, need inspiration, or feel lost... study the Book of Mormon. If you are thriving, comfortable, excelling in all areas of life... still, study the Book of Mormon. We have everything we need to know in this sacred book. We can feel Christ's love and understand God's perfect plan for us. The spirit WILL enter into our hearts if we FEAST upon the words of the Book of Mormon. 

 

 

I am so proud to carry the Book of Mormon around in my hand everyday in Puente Alto, Chile.

 

 

Highs: 

-ANDRES WANTS TO GET BAPTIZED 

-We had a ward talent show and my comp and I performed "head shoulders knees and toes" in spanish and english and we got a standing ovation 

-I deep cleaned our house 

-It smells like summer 

-Everyone's doors are open watching soccer and it really feels like I am in Chile 

-We gave tours of our chapel with other missionaries 

-One of the ladies asked us to speak some English on our tour so she could practice and it      was almost impossible for my comp and I to speak about religious things in English. We are still laughing about it three days later 

-More random gifts throughout the day 

 

 

Lows:

-Eating chicken at a members house that looked and smelled far too real 

-So many of our progressing friends were out of town this week

-Time is going too fast in the mission
