Our new friend Monica asked us a very good question yesterday:

"How can I maintain my faith in the hardest of situations?"

Immediately a well known verse in the Book of Mormon came to my head,

Helaman 5:12

And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

Depending on Christ to find happiness, hope, confidence, and peace is how we can stand strong in any situation. He needs to be our foundation.

Our prophet promised us that "When the focus of our lives is on Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives"

I am so grateful for the scriptures and a living prophet. We ALWAYS can find the answers to our questions. It has been inspiring to see how shocked Monica is as we continually answer her questions using the resources God has given us today.
