I'm Not Tired Anymore!!!!

Fasting is so SO HARD but SO GOOD.

Our prophet, Russell M. Nelson has taught us that, “fasting helps your spirit to develop dominance over your physical appetites. Fasting also increases your access to heavens health as it intensifies your prayers.”

This week we fasted as a companionship and I cannot deny the power of fasting. IT WORKS!!!!! After our fast, my companion I laughed at the fact that we didn't talk for 24 hours haha (fasting is not our strength) (#hangry), however, we did it because fasting is a way we can unlock power from heaven... only when it is coupled with faith.

Ether 12:12 (Book of Mormon)

For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith

This scripture helped me during my fast because MINUTES (no lie) after we started, everything started to go wrong and I was like "WHAT?? I am sacrificing by fasting. Things are supposed to go right?!”

For a lot of my life, I have thought, "If I do this, God will bless me with this at this time," but I was soooo far off! Blessings and miracles don't work like a vending machine. That's why FAITH is important. It is not only faith that eventually we will be blessed, but also faith in God’s timing, faith in His wisdom, and faith no matter the outcome.

The main part of my specific fast was to help one of our friends who is having second thoughts about her baptism. I want SO BADLY for her to have a spiritual experience to help her feel the importance and urgency of baptism so she can go to the temple with her family. It has been a couple days since our fast and the situation hasn't changed. My faith is so far from perfect, however, I am trying my hardest to hope for the best and be positive with whatever the results may be. God knows our friend and her situation so much better than I do, and I have faith that He will be with her on her personal journey.

We have seen a ton of other blessings and tiny miracles this week; however, the greatest of all has been the clarity and peace that fasting has given me. I feel closer to God and can see more of His eternal perspective. I have noticed a huge spiritual growth this week YAYYYY!!
