3 Hours Of Arabic Music

I woke up to myself laughing the other morning, so that tells you about how I am doing. So happy.

This week, the family of my dreams was baptized! Catherinne and Bastian followed the example of their daughter/sister to be baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ on Saturday.

This past month, I have become so infatuated with the idea of baptizing individuals/families that are going to become the future leaders in the church. I have prayed so hard to be able to find and teach those who will make a difference in the kingdom of God on earth.

God blessed us with Fernanda, who is one of our friends that got baptized in August, and through her, we found Eduardo, Catherinne, and Bastian. The story of their conversion is just too beautiful to even try and describe in an email, but basically they are the future leaders of this ward.

Though so many things touched me through my experience with them, what marked me the most was the pure love I feel for them. Even just thinking of this family makes me teary-eyed.

Jesus was once asked,

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

And Jesus answered, saying,

37 "...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Elder James E. Talmage said that these 2 commandments "are so closely related as to be virtually one: … ‘Thou shalt love.’ He who abides by one of the two will abide by both; for without love for our fellows, it is impossible to please God.

I have reflected a lot on why I just keep becoming happier and happier each day, and I believe one of the biggest reasons is that I am striving to keep the two greatest commandments by serving a full-time mission.

I am giving God all of my time, talents, thoughts, and words for a year and a half of my life (loving God) to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the children of God (loving my neighbor).

I am so imperfect but have seen that by trying my best to fulfill these two commandments each day, I have been less inclined to dwell on negative feelings, judge/criticize, and have found more of a desire to understand others and their points of view through patience and empathy.

The apostle Paul taught in the Bible,

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal." (Corinthians 13:1)

Loving others with the pure love of Christ not only has blessed the lives of others but has opened the doors to a brighter, more joyful life for me personally.
