Clean Up In Aisle 9 Por Favor

Hermana Santamaria and I really thought we had it all figured out with what would happen in cambios (transfers every six weeks). Still, we quickly realized our predictions would be SO FAR OFF after receiving a text from the President saying, "Give me a call after you see the facechart." And indeed, we didn't guess even close to what came to pass.

I got 6 INCREDIBLE weeks in Ñuñoa, starting in a trio and ending with just the queen herself, Hermana Santamaria. Us thriving would be a big understatement. I fell in love with the city life, the members, cute restaurants everywhere, beautiful parks with caleta de familias, Orangetheory workouts every morning, and a FIRE district; however, my time in Ñuñoa has surprisingly come to an end. #ripinthechat.

I am doing a WHITEWASH in ANOTHER TRIO in the ward Alvaro Casanova (Peñalolén). My two companions are from CHI CHI CHI LE LE LE (Hermana Briones) and COLOMBIA (Hermana Durán) *que la colombiana dance move @hermanaSantamaria. They both have four months in the mission and are just the definition of tender and precious. We call ourselves "Las regalonas de la misión."

Both my comps are reassigned missionaries.

Hermana Briones was originally assigned to serve in Temple Square in the Salt Lake City mission. The best way to describe her is comparing her to the Disney princess Snow White. She even looks and talks like Snow White. Like this girl is so special. Even the evil, scary street dogs like her.

Hermana Durán was originally assigned to Ecuador. She is an organized, determined Colombian queen. She sadly doesn't cook Colombian food (a win for my health), but she does speak English and had blue hair before the mission, so all is well.

My area is BAKAN, amazing, incredible, beautiful, and so very good. It is very similar to my second area in Puente Alto but just on a mountain and more of a variety of people/landscape!!!! The people are so friendly and want to talk, there are a ton of families, we hike hills all day, and the ward is just a dream.

All around, life is 10/10

A whitewash is when a new companionship is put into an area, and the only knowledge they have of the area is what is on the missionary app.

Whitewashing has really tested my faith, we were not left with much when I arrived, however, I have been constantly reminding myself of the story of the brother of Jared in the Book of Mormon.

Read Ether 2-3. IT’S SO GOOD, but basically, what stuck out to me the most was how the brother of Jared put forth his best effort and prayed that the Lord would touch his efforts with His almighty power.

I wish I had more time to go in-depth with my thoughts (there are many); however, I have been strengthening my new perspective based on the brother of Jared's story.

Though I am new to the area with my two other comps, and we don't know much, all we can do is put in the work and faithfully call upon God's power to touch our efforts.

So far, IT HAS WORKED SO VERY WELL!! The most miracle-filled days I have ever seen on the mission have been the past three days. HIP HIP
