Welcome To The Crib
I have failed as an English teacher.
When another missionary asked Hermana Briones (my companion from Chile), "How's your English?" she looked at me proudly and said, "Welcome to my crib."
Update:
YOU GUYS!! I get a little ill thinking about the fact that a six-week cambio has already flown by. Time is passing too fast.
On Wednesday, we found out that Hermana Briones and I are staying together in Peñalolén WUJU but with the addition of THE Hermana Rindlisbaker. Third trio in a row.
It's actually been so fun being with Hermana Rindlisbaker because we were in the same zone when I was new, and when she arrived on the mission. She has grown SO MUCH, and it has been so beautiful to see.
Legit, I can't think of a sister missionary in the mission who is more spiritual and angel-like than my two companions. I am so blessed. The Spirit is SO STRONG all the time, we are always finding new ways to be more consecrated, and our lessons are SO POWERFUL. I am just soaking up all the goodness of my companions.
Spiritual:
Our friend Vero (who recently got baptized) has been struggling these past couple of weeks with her job, health problems, and overall lack of ánimo.
Since she is so busy, we haven't been able to have constant contact with her. So, while planning our week, we decided that we were going to pass by Vero's house every night at 8 pm, and that God would provide a way for us to get in contact with her and begin to teach her family.
Yesterday, we stopped by the house but couldn't get in because the gate to her condominium was locked. We began to yell "ALO," but no one came to help us.
We prayed and said that we would yell three times, and if no one came to help us, we would come back tomorrow.
After the third "ALO" (by the Chilean herself, Hna Briones), an old man peeked out his window, and we asked him to open the gate for us.
Jorge (the old man) is officially our new BFF, who was our legit angelito and helped us find the apartment of Vero.
Long story short, Vero wasn't in the house, but her mom and dad were! As we began to talk to them, the parents (Pedro y Digna) expressed how much they need more peace and light in their lives and that they are so grateful we came by when we did.
Though we only shared a short message, the Spirit touched the hearts of Pedro and Digna so strongly. In fact, Digna began to cry, and Pedro offered such a beautiful prayer at the end, pouring out his heart to God.
MIRACLES EXIST! As we put in the effort and faith to participate in miracles, we don't only bless our own lives but the lives of others.
Doctrine and Covenants 24:
12 And at ALL TIMES, and in ALL PLACES, he shall OPEN HIS MOUTH and DECLARE MY GOSPEL as with the voice of a TRUMP, both day and night. And I will give unto him STRENGTH such as is NOT KNOWN AMONG MEN.
I have learned that as we open our mouths we are exercising faith which invites the Spirit leading us to miracles.
Open your mouth —> exercise faith —> invite the Spirit —> miracles
